Admission Alert Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property and New Technologies By World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland

In the academic year 2022/2023, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, is continuing the joint offering of the Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property and New Technologies.  

The previous successful editions confirmed demand and interest in participation in the Master’s Program of candidates from public institutions, universities, practitioners and the private sector. To support such candidates, in the 2022/2023 edition of the Program, a number of full scholarships (travel, tuition, registration, accommodation, food allowance, health insurance) are provided to candidates from Central and Eastern Europe working for the Government, University or Research and Development Institute.  

The Program offers candidates an attractive and user-friendly structure of three semesters of study from October 1 2022 to February 28 2024, with the first fully distance-learning semester, second-residential semester (14 weeks) at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland and the last semester with the option of preparing a Master thesis and being involved in an internship in a home country or in Poland.   

The content of this unique Master’s Program focuses on the most challenging issues related to intellectual property and new technologies (including new technologies and patent law; copyright in the digital era; artificial intelligence commercial communication; data protection, privacy and personal rights on the Internet; Internet service providers’ liability). Leading IP specialists from the IP centres: Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich, University of Alicante, Queen Mary School of Law, Texas School of Law will provide courses and workshops.

An application for WIPO scholarships should be made through the WIPO website (https://welc.wipo.int/acc/index.jsf?page=aipCatalog.xhtml&lang=en&cc=MIP_JAGIELLONIAN#plus_MIP_JAGIELLONIAN). The candidate should submit:   

1) A detailed updated CV   

2) A Motivation letter   

3) Degree(s) and transcripts   

  All details regarding admission, as well as mandatory admission procedure through the Jagiellonian University ERK system.

The Jagiellonian University ERK system is mandatory for use by candidates. The deadline for admission for 2022/2023 is August 31, 2022, but the deadline for applications for WIPO scholarships is July 22, 2022.
