CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: INTENSIVE DOCTORAL WEEK, 12TH EDITION

Sciences Po Law PhD Program and the Law and Political Science Doctoral School of Paris Nanterre University will hold their forthcoming Intensive Doctoral Week (12th Edition) from 12 to 17 June 2023.

Initiated in 2011, and successfully continued since then, the Intensive Doctoral Week (IDW) is a co-organised initiative led by Sciences Po Law School and the Law and Political Science Doctoral School of Paris Nanterre University as well as a great number of partners in the world.

The IDW is designed as a PhD-training Lab. It aims at enabling PhD researchers to present their own topics, to discuss their own work, and to engage their ideas with renowned Law professors, from France or abroad. Selected participants will be given the opportunity to introduce their own research, the questions they struggle with, the methodological problems that they face, and the arguments that they wish to develop in their work. Their research will benefit from the comments made by senior academics as well as other PhD researchers. The IDW is also an occasion for senior and junior researchers to discuss and to gather information on cross-cutting issues on different areas, but also to confront their views, and discuss new methods and perspectives for legal research.

The two working languages are French and English. Selected participants are encouraged to attend the event in person but, in exceptional circumstances, it will be possible to participate remotely.

Applications will be examined and selected by an independent committee of experts. To apply and submit your PhD project description, fill in the online application. The deadline for application is January 7th 2023. Successful applicants will be informed by January 31st 2023.
