CALL FOR PAPERS: GAJE-NLUO MEDIATION AND NEGOTIATION CONCLAVE!

ORGANIZED BY: THE NLUO CENTRE FOR MEDIATION AND NEGOTIATION

Introduction:
The Centre for Mediation and Negotiation at NLUO is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for
the upcoming GAJE-NLUO Mediation and Negotiation Conclave (Aug 9th 2023 – Aug 13th
2023). We invite interested researchers, academicians, and policymakers from Indian and foreign
institutions to submit their papers for presentation at the conclave. Selected papers will also have
the opportunity to be published in the subsequent editions of the NLUO ADR e-Newsletter.
Themes:
Participants may choose from the following themes for their paper presentations:

  1. Alternative Dispute Resolution
  2. Importance of Communication in Mediation
  3. Multi-tiered Arbitration
  4. International Commercial Mediation
  5. Mediation in Matrimonial Disputes
  6. Mediation and Labour Law
  7. Mediation and IPR Disputes

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions should be in the form of articles. The acceptable word limit should not be
    breached i.e., 3000-4500 words.
  • Abstract must contain central research question and research design along with the
    proposed title and keywords (not more than 350 words).
  • Co-authorship is permissible for the manuscripts, but the number of co-authors must not
    exceed two.
  • All manuscripts must be original works of the authors. Plagiarized content beyond 15%
    will not be eligible for publication.
  • Time Duration for Paper Presentation: 15 minutes in total, i.e., 12 minutes for presentation
    and 3 minutes for questions & answers, and comments.
    General Guidelines:
  • Each manuscript should include a title and a brief synopsis/introduction of the chosen topic.
  • The title of the submission must not exceed 10 words.
  • The synopsis/introduction of the topic should not exceed 350 words.
  • Authors must include a brief biographical information (in no more than two lines) below the title.
  • Each submission must include up to five keywords relevant to the article’s theme.
    Formatting Guidelines:
  • Body: Font – Times New Roman, Font size- 12, Line spacing- 1.5, Alignment- Justified.
  • Footnotes: Font – Times New Roman, Font size- 10, Line spacing- 1, Alignment- Justified.
  • Please adhere to the OSCOLA format for citations.
    Submission Process:
    To submit your manuscripts for the GAJE-NLUO Mediation & Negotiation Conclave, please
    follow the guidelines below:

Deadline for submissions: Papers must be submitted by 6th August, 2023 to the email address
provided above. However, papers will only be entertained if payment guidelines have been
followed and proof of payment has been provided. Papers submitted without payment will not be
considered.
Payment Guidelines:
To register for the conclave, a nominal registration fee will be charged. The registration fee is INR
350 (4.24 USD) for single-authored papers and INR 650 (7.65 USD) for co-authored papers.

  • Accept the disclaimer clause and click on ‘Proceed’
  • Select the State of Corporate/Institution as ‘Odisha’
  • Select the type of Corporate/Institution as ‘Educational Institutions’ and click on ‘Go’.
  • Now select the Educational Institution Name as ‘National Law University Odisha’ and click
    on ‘Submit’.
  • Select the required payment category ‘Registration for Seminar & Events’ from the dropdown.
  • Fill in the challan with the required information as asked for or select from the drop-down
    options wherever available.
  • Mobile Number as asked for in the lower part of the screen. This information is important
    to reprint the e-Receipt after any successful payment.
  • Once the required data is filled in click on ‘Submit’.
  • The system will ask you to verify the details entered and confirm the transaction on the
    next page. Verify the details and click on confirm.
  • The system will request you to select the desired payment mode from various options.
    Please note that the bank charges for various payment modes are also displayed which is
    to be borne by the remitter. Carefully examine the charges displayed since the charges for
    different payment modes are different. Select the desired payment mode.
