About District
Suburban District was declared as an Independent District w.e.f. 1st October 1990, as a consequence of the bifurcation of Greater Mumbai into two revenue districts namely, Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban. Before this, Mumbai Suburban was part of Mumbai City District.
Mumbai Suburban District belongs to the Konkan Division of Maharashtra State. It is a part of Mumbai City. Its headquarters is at Bandra a suburb of Mumbai City. Mumbai Suburban district is divided into two Sub Divisional Offices i.e. SDO Western Suburb and SDO Eastern Suburb.
The district consists of three administrative subdivisions (Talukas) Andheri, Borivali, and Kurla. The district consists of 87 villages. The district has 10 City Survey Offices. From a constitutional view, 4 Parliamentary Constituencies and 26 Assembly Constituencies are part of the Mumbai Suburban District.
The administrative limits of districts are from Mahim Causeway to Dahisar, Kurla to Mulund, and Kurla to Trombay.
About the Opportunity
The appointment to the post of Law Officer will be made on a contractual basis for the first 11 months and after 11 months, if necessary, the contract can be extended from time to time. However, extending such a term at a time shall not exceed 11 months.
Thus a maximum of 3 appointments can be made.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate should be a Law graduate & holding Sanad of Advocate.
- Candidate should have 7 years of Practice experience.
- Candidate should know about Revenue Laws, Service Acts & Rules, Administrative aspects & Departmental inquiry, etc.
- The maximum age limit is 45 years.
- Candidate should know Marathi, Hindi & English language
Remuneration
The post of Law Officer will get lumpsum monthly remuneration of Rs. 35000/- including telephone & traveling allowance.
