About Us

GNLU is a premier institute of legal education set up in the year 2003 by an Act of the State Legislature. The University is committed to achieving the highest possible standards of excellence, and produce students with necessary skills to be good lawyers. One aspect of this growth is by way of developing practical and innovative solutions to legal issues in the form of participation in moot court competitions. To foster this commitment to the activity of mooting, the University organises two moot court competitions – the GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC) and the GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law (GNLUMSIL), both marked by increased growth in their popularity and standards every year.

GENERAL INFORMATION

These are the rules for the 7th GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law, 2023. These rules supersede any rules previously released.

2. The 7th GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law, 2023 (Competition) shall be held from 05 to 08 October 2023 in an offline mode, at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

3. The Organizing Committee (OC) shall function as the point of contact, and any changes in the Rules of the Competition shall be notified by email to all participating teams.

4. The Competition shall be conducted in accordance with the rules mentioned hereunder. Participants are required to comply with the rules and procedures prescribed herein.

ELIGIBILITY AND TEAM COMPOSITION

  • The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bonafide at the time of the competition on a regular basis in an undergraduate LL.B. degree programme or its equivalent conducted by any recognized Institution/College/University in India. Students enrolled in postgraduate or diploma programmes are not eligible to participate.
  • A recognized Institution/College/University shall be entitled to send only one Team for the Competition.
  • Each Team shall comprise of minimum 2 (two) and maximum 3 (three) members. In case of a three-member team, two members of the Team shall be designated as Orators and the third member shall be designated as the Researcher. In case of a two-member team, both members shall be designated as Orators.
  • Any additional member or Team Coach accompanying a Team shall not be recognized and will not be entitled to a certificate from the OC.

Registration Fee

  • The registration fee is INR 5,000 per Team.
  • The mode of payment and the payment link will be shared with the participants in due course of time.
