India’s 25th National Law University established in the year 2022. We are the based in the State of Tripura which is a home to 19 tribes. Around one third population of Tripura comprises of our tribals and indigenous fellow citizens. We are proud to expand the frontiers of access to quality legal education to more and more tribal students in Tripura and northeastern region of India.
Full-Time and Part-Time Ph.D. positions are open for Admission in 2023-2024 academic year.
Total Seats– 15
The University offers a stipend of INR 20,000/- per month and accommodation in the hostel to Full-Time Ph.D. scholars.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND ADMISSION TEST
Selection Process:
The admission to NLUT for Ph.D. program shall be a three pronged process, namely:
Step 1: The University shall conduct a NLUT- Doctoral Research Admission Test (NLUTDRAT) for the candidates who have applied for admission in Ph.D. program in NLUT.
Step 2: Submission and Evaluation of a Research Proposal (SERP)
Step 3: Oral Presentation of a Research Proposal (OPRP)
Explanation: Candidates securing not less than 50% marks on the aggregate in the written test will qualify for the process of Step 2 and Step 3- as mentioned above- for evaluation of their Research Proposal and making an oral presentation before the Panel of Experts on the date
specified by the University.
