School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) (SLCU) is a premier educational institution engaged in providing a platform to young minds to sharpen legal acumen and to acquire such skills and knowledge to serve society. SLCU moulds its students through a combination of exposure to the advanced syllabus and clinical legal education programs and provides guidance for students to excel in co-curricular activities such as moot court competitions, literary and debating activities, and dispute resolution competitions. Additionally, SLCU has been placed at the 13th position among law universities in the prestigious ‘India Rankings 2023’ by the Ministry of Education (MoE)’s National University Ranking Framework (NIRF) and 2nd in the GHRDC Law Schools Rankings, 2023.

About CHRIST UNIVERSITY STUDENT LAW REVIEW

CUSLR is SLCU’s first student-run Law Review. CUSLR is an annual blind peer-reviewed journal edited by the students of SLCU. CUSLR aims to publish high-quality legal literature authored by academicians, legal pracrtioners and professionals, research scholars, and students accepting submissions on contemporary legal issues from multiple disciplines of law.

General Guidelines

  • The submissions may be on any contemporary legal issue. The authors must adhere to the prescribed word limit (excluding footnotes and abstract).
  • Co-authorship to a maximum of two authors is permitted, and all submissions are to be made electronically in MS Word (.doc/.docx) format, on a google form link here.
  • An abstract of not more than 200 – 300 words and five keywords should be mandatorily included with the submission of every manuscript.
  • Submission of manuscripts implies that it is the original work of the author(s) and is not considered for publication elsewhere.
  • All submissions must adhere to a strict plagiarism limit of 15%; manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be automatically rejected upon screening using Turnitin.

Manuscript Types

Submissions may fall under the following categories (word limits* are exclusive of footnotes):-

Long Articles: 5000-8000 words-

Short Articles: 3000-5000 words-

Case Notes, Legislative Comments & Book Reviews: 1500-3000 words

*word limits are exclusive of footnotes
