About the job

Qualifications and experience:

1. A three/five-year law degree

2. One to two yearsof post-qualification experience in the Commercial Litigation/Arbitration practice/ NCLT practice / Real Estate. Additional experience in general corporate advisory (securities / exchange control), IBC and IPR disputes will be a plus point since the role is a hybrid between advisory and litigation.

3. Must have been involved in contractual disputes and general civil & commercial litigation.

4. Must have experience in drafting legal notices, replies to legal notices / petitions/ civil suits/ appeals/ writs/ counters / rejoinders/ SLPs/ Written Submissions before various forums.

Knowledge areas:

1. Working knowledge of all, general commercial laws, practice and procedure of courts and arbitrations, IBC, Limitation Act, CPC, CrPC, Company Law, Constitution.

2. Must have a good command of spoken and written English.

3. Must be able to analyse the problem/ issue at hand, interpretation, research from different databases and draft first cut drafts in all commercial matters and opinions.

4. Must be able to communicate with clients directly, if need be.

5. Must be able to work under the guidance of a Senior Associate / Principal Associate/Associate Partner/Partner in drafting and preparing documents/ pleadings on the above subjects.

6. Must have up to date knowledge of current commercial laws.

7. Must be able to file documents/ pleadings before different forums with court clerks and seniors’ assistance.

8. Must visit Courts and client offices when the need arises.

Other skills

2. Excellent communication skills (moot court or litigation experience useful)

3. Analytical ability- able to analyse, interpret laws and apply the same for practical use

4. Tech-savvy, able to use the computer efficiently, typing, social media, e-commerce mechanisms

5. Must have written articles on relevant disputes/ topics in the subject areas mentioned above.

6. High level of integrity, honesty and commitment to work ethics
