About the Journal

The Asia-Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law is a publication of the Institute of International Legal Studies – University of the Philippines Law Center (UP-IILS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The Journal aims to produce peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book reviews, and commentary on significant developments and current issues in international humanitarian law, and related fields. It has a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and is published once a year.

The Asia Pacific Journal of International Humanitarian Law and and the International Criminal Program of the Institute of International Legal Studies, invite scholars, practitioners, and students to submit abstracts for papers on the following themes:

🔹 International Humanitarian Law (IHL)
🔹 International Criminal Law (ICL) and Religion
🔹 IHL, ICL, and Human Rights
🔹 IHL, ICL, and Legal Scholarship

Accepted abstracts will be presented in an in-person workshop dedicated to exploring the challenges encountered by IHL and ICL. This workshop will provide a platform for scholars, state authorities, political and religious leaders, and legal practitioners to contribute to the advancement and application of IHL and ICL.
