ABOUT FACULTY OF LAW

Faculty of Law, University of Delhi is a centre of legal research and learning par excellence. Since its inception in 1924, the Department has produced countless legal luminaries and leaders including Supreme Court and High Court judges, advocates, political leaders and policy makers. The hallmark of Faculty of Law is that it provides legal education at a nominal cost, making it accessible to individuals from all strata of the society. It constitutes of three law centres i.e., Campus Law Centre, Law Centre – I, Law Centre – II and has more than 10,000 students pursuing LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. in Law. Beginning from academic year 2023-24, the Five-years Integrated Law Course has been introduced in the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, to further enrich legal education in India.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The National workshop and Capacity Development Program on Artificial Intelligence : Techno-Legal perspective is being organised with the objective to bring together legal professionals, technologists, policymakers, and academics to explore the transformative role of AI in India’s judiciary. This timely gathering addresses the integration of AI technologies that are reshaping the legal landscape, from case management to language translation and decision support. Key focus areas include AI tools like SUPACE and SUVAS, the shift to virtual hearings, ethical considerations in AI adoption, global perspectives on judicial AI, and the future of AI in India’s legal system.
