Call for Applications: for IBA International Criminal Court and International Criminal Law Internship Programme
The IBA International Criminal Court & International Criminal Law (ICC & ICL) Programme, based in The Hague, works to increase cooperation with and support for the ICC and other accountability efforts, with the goal of strengthening the Rome Statute system globally and achieving fair, effective, and accessible justice for victims of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and aggression.
Main responsibilities
Support with monitoring and analysing developments at the International Criminal Court and in Hague-based international courts and tribunals as required.
• Conduct legal and issue-based research on a diverse range of legal issues in the field of international criminal law including ICL jurisprudence and policy developments.
• Preparation of briefing notes for meetings, presentations and events.
• Attendance of meetings and events as required.
• Support with the development of IBA ICC & ICL Programme communications and social media products.
• Assist with routine office administration as required.
About the internship
The internship will run from August till December 2025. The internships will be part-time, Monday to Friday, up to 30 hours per week. Working from home will be possible, although interns will be required to be in the office for at least 50% of the workweek. To note that intern must be based in the Netherlands. Interns are given two days’ holiday per calendar month.
Interested candidates are expected to apply before July 4.
Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
The expected start date of the internship is August 25, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
