Call for Papers: for Islamic International Law and Global Affairs, Submission Deadline- 30 October 2025

Submissions are invited for the inaugural issue of Islamic International Law and Global Affairs (IILGA), a peer-reviewed academic journal committed to advancing rigorous and innovative scholarship on Islamic international law (siyar) and its engagement with the evolving landscape of global legal affairs.

We welcome original research articles, conceptual essays, and case studies

We invite scholars, legal practitioners, and policymakers to contribute to the inaugural issue of the IILGA. Contributions may address any of the topics listed in this Call for Papers or propose original themes that align with the broader aims of the IILGA. We welcome submissions that offer interdisciplinary insights bridging Islamic law with contemporary global challenges, or that critically examine the interaction between Islamic jurisprudence and international legal norms.

Important Dates

  1. Prospective contributors should submit their article title, abstract (no more than 200 words) and a detailed outline of their article (no less than 1000 words, including its structure and primary resources cited in footnotes according to the journal’s citation style) to Dr Ahmad Ghouri by 30 October 2025.
  2.  The deadline for submission of final papers is 15 January 2026.
  3. The Issue will be published in February/March 2026.
