4th Isari Velan Memorial National Virtual Moot Court Competition for law students by VISTAS, School of Law, Chennai [Feb 25-26, 2022]: Register by Feb 10

The Bar Council of India, New Delhi, has authorised VISTAS’ School of Law. Dr. Ishari K Ganesh, a visionary and distinguished educator, established the Vels Educational Trust in remembrance of his father Thiru.Isari Velan. The Thiru. Isari Velan Moot Court is the 4th Consecutive National Moot Court Competition hosted by the Moot Society – VISTAS, and the current 2022 Moot Court is the 4th Consecutive National Moot Court Competition hosted by the Moot Society – VISTAS.

Concerning the Moot
The Thiru. Isari Velan Memorial National Moot Court Competition (IVMNMCC) is an annual all-India moot court competition hosted by the Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai’s School of Law. The competition is one of the most coveted mooting events among the city of Chennai’s law schools. It began in the year 2019 and will conclude this year with its fourth iteration.

The National Virtual Moot Court Competition 2022 will be conducted on February 25 and 26, 2022, at the School of Law – VISTAS (Vels Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies). The current debatable issue is founded on constitutional law, which involves power dynamics and Electoral Law intricacies. The IV Ishari Velan National – Virtual Moot Court Competition aims to give students a place to practise abstract thinking, logical reasoning, and practical problem-solving skills.

Instructions for Participation

  • Eligibility Criteria: Students who are enrolled in a five-year integrated law degree programme or a three-year LL.B programme at the time of the competition are eligible to compete. Each Law College/Law School/Law University will nominate a maximum of two teams from their institution to compete.
  • A team must include a minimum of two and a maximum of three members, i.e. two speakers and one researcher. During registration, the Teams will identify the speakers and researcher.
  • Official Language: English is the Competition’s official language.
  • Dress Code: The teams must adhere to the dress code outlined below.
  • Boys should wear a white shirt, black trousers, a black blazer, a black tie, and black formal shoes.
    White Shirt, Black Trousers/Salwar (White and Black), Black Blazer, and Black Formal Shoes are required for girls.

The registration fees of Rs. 1000/- is to be paid online. The UTR/Ref. Number of screenshot of payment must be uploaded in final registration form for completing the process of registration.
