About the Job

Freshworks is seeking a highly-motivated and enterprising counsel to join the Freshworks Legal Team.

Responsibilities

You will draft, negotiate and advise on all contractual obligations that Freshworks will enter into & process improvement projects, more specifically on the below:

  • Advise and support Partnership, Procurement, and GTM teams in the drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and closure of contracts.
  • Assist these teams in the preparation of templates, revamping existing templates to suit changing business needs/ models from time to time.
  • Efficiently manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in agreements.
  • Remain updated on legal issues & delve deep into the industry practice on specific business matters and make revisions as necessary to standard templates/policies from time to time.
  • Work in close collaboration with a diverse range of internal stakeholders including other subject matter experts to identify, anticipate and mitigate legal/contractual & privacy-related risks.
  • Proactively seek opportunities, which includes volunteering to help the team when needed and introduce efficiency in planning & organizing the assigned tasks.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in law with demonstrated excellent academic performance.
  • 3-6 years of experience as a transactional attorney in a reputable business law firm, or in-house experience with the legal department preferably in a multi-national company.
  • Strong knowledge of basic principles of contract drafting, review, and negotiation with an ability to provide practical and well-reasoned solutions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of privacy laws & the industry practice of the IT sector from a legal standpoint.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be excellent in MS Office and comfortable with new technology.
